" Over the past two weeks, (April 2008), I have been dealing with a company in the United States called: VYC - Best Used Tires  at 1-866-480-8477, (a toll free number).  By going to their web site, (www.bestusedtires.com), you can find numerous used tires in varying degree of wear from 3/32" to 9/32" at "Outstanding Prices".

I recently purchased three Goodyear Eagle GS-C, 255/45 ZR 17's and now have two lefts and one right side tire. They are directional tires and very, very hard to find.  Going for inspected used tires was the way to proceed so as to maintain a stock vehicle.

The company does not ship to Canada, however, they will ship via UPS to any UPS Store along the border, and having it sent to the UPS Store, 2981 Ford St. ext. Ogdensburg, New York, 13669 was easy and only cost $35.00 USD for two tires and $19.00 for one tire. Please note that I only paid the following amounts for each tire, $89.95, $75.00 and $64.00. In short this is a terrific deal from a company offering excellent used tires at less that a quarter of the regular price.

Going to Ogdensburg is just over an hour from Ottawa and upon arrival at the UPS Store you will see piles of tires and car parts for pick up, this is also an easy process. At the Canadian Border you are required to pay for both the GST & PST on the price you paid for the tires. And that's it. "
