Spring Tour
The first club road tour of the year has been traditionally one that is organized and hosted by Reuben Wall. This was our first spring without Reuben in forever and there was concern; would there be a spring tour this year? Along came Bob and Sandy Weagant. They have organized many very interesting road tours in the past that usually have a theme along with a quiz to work on while on the tour.
Sunday, May 1st dawned sunny and mild and proved to be a perfect day for the opening road trip of the 2011 season. We gathered in Blossom Park and got some directions and then headed off to St. Alberts. The spring tour is always quite exciting because those that have acquired new Corvettes over the down season are proud to show them off to other members and new members are coming to their first club event.
We hit St. Alberts and had to visit the St. Albert cheese factory outlet. After some shopping we hit the road again and made our way south to Cornwall. Our destination was the Best Western where we had a great buffet lunch. Stuffed members waddled back to their Vettes and some went on home to have a nap while others continued a leisurely scenic drive along the St. Lawrence and on to host Bob and Sandy's.
All participating members would like to express a huge thanks to Bob and Sandy for their time and efforts made in putting together a thoroughly enjoyable day. It is so good to be out on the road again after the winter !
