| Bob & Sandy's Agricultural Road Tour - May 31st | ||
| What has Global Positioning Satellites, automatic manure scrapers, the Titanic and Corvettes in common? Yes folks - our road tour lead by Rob and Sandy. We learned that GPS is used in controlling tractors plowing fields, that cow's can gingerly side step a mechanized poop scraper, the relationship of a 2 year old Titanic survivor to our community as well as other numerous interesting facts. We met at Farm Boy on Bank Street and from there drove through some scenic farm communities of Eastern Ontario while being challenged by a 25 question quiz put together by our hosts. ( There was no cheating on the quiz in the parking lot of Tim Horton's Bob - honest). We had a great pot luck lunch in a shed at the Tibben Farm and watched several storms roll through the area. Thanks to Bob & Sandy for the time they put into creating an interesting and fun tour for other members of the club to enjoy. |
Another view of the cars. The first few drops of rain caused people with open roofs to close them quickly.
Don't let those fluffy white clouds fool you. Calm blue skies yielded to cloud, wind and eventually rain.
The wet Vettes wait for their owners feet to return and dirty up their floor mats with hopefully just mud.
Calves born the day before our visit were talking about how much milk they would produce when they grew up.
