If you recall last year's reports, several times I encouraged both racers and spectators to attend these events even only for the drive there and back along the Mountain Road. Well folks, you listened and responded. We had 13 cars meet on Bate Island for the convoy to the track and 2 more racers show up later. In all, this was the largest turnout ever for this event. Was it the perfect weather, the opportunity to witness the first of the Double Whammy events, a chance for the virgins to "open 'er up and see what she'll do", or the drive on the Mountain Road?? We don't know why nor does it matter, the bottom line is thanks to all who attended and keep coming back and bring friends.

My previous reports included a blow by blow description of the ladder and the results. That information doesn't mean a great deal to anyone but the racers, so I'm going to bypass that part and cut to the highlights.  The racers were virgins Janet (who wouldn't stop time trialing to the point that some of us started to feel sorry for the car), Laurie and Jeff, rookies Stewart, George and Ian and veterans Ross, Rick, Wendy & Barry. Wendy got the bye in round two and Stewart got the bye in round 3 with Ian Schwartz the winner of the first event. The second event saw Janet get the bye in round 2 and Jeff in round 3 with Jeff McBride and his new 2008 Black Coupe taking the win in the second event.

Thanks again to the participants who made this event so much fun.
