Romance was in the air and cupids arrows were flying as members of the club settled into Tucson's on Saturday, February 12th for some dinner followed by live entertainment provided by a band known as FunKtion.

This was the first event where the club had used the online means of invitations to get a better feel of the numbers of people planning on attending.  An email was sent out to everyone with an electronic invite providing details about the venue and then members were requested to RSVP electronically.  There was a good response and the majority of people questioned, seemed to favor this means of organizing events.  If you have any feelings one way or the other about using these types of invites, please contact our social director, Sue Baggs.  She would be interested in your feedback if you haven't already expressed it.

The club was provided seating at one end of the restaurant and most people were seated and ordering by 5:30.  The menu was varied and favored the foods of the south and southwestern U.S.  If it was too spicy - then beer helped cool things off.  Every couple got a bag of Valentine Goodies - thank you very much and one of the bags contained a special colored heart.  The lucky finder of the heart received the door prize of the evening - a club scarf to protect against the chilly temperatures outside.  Congratulations to Debbie Girard on her big win! 

The majority of guests departed after dinner, heady with romantic ideas and a few hung on to enjoy the funk and soul music of FunKtion - a local Ottawa band.  It was a good evening and a nice break from the winter non-Corvette blues.  Thanks to all that put effort into making the night happen and thanks to those members that came out.
